We are currently working with a South West based Local Council who are recruiting for a skilled and experienced Estates Surveyor to assist in the Valuation and Estates Management Service to the Council.

Estates Surveyor

Start: January start

Rate: £400 per day Inside IR35

Duration: 6 months initially

Hybrid Working arrangement: 2 days per week on-site in the South West

Responsibilities

  • Be involved in all aspects of the valuation and estates work of the council including acquisitions, disposals, management, rating and compensation matters
  • To provide a cost effective professional valuation and property management service to the council taking into account the council’s policies and legislation and particularly the duty to demonstrate best value on all property transactions
  • The role holder will assist the valuation and asset management team deliver a range of services and provide advice and supervision as required to the Valuer and Assistant Valuer
  • Providing valuation reports as required eg for property transactions, feasibility studies/land estimates and asset valuation purposes

Requirements

  • Experience working with a local authority and knowledge of processes – able to hit the ground running
  • Qualified MRICS or equivalent – knowledgeable about Property management, L&T, valuation and general all round property experience
  • Have a thorough knowledge of current legislation and valuation techniques
