This established, Tier 1 brand is delivering some of the most prestigious Civil Engineering projects in the UK and due to winning a Lot on a £2bn programme of works across the South West, are actively looking to appoint an Estimator to join their team. Working within a project team tasked with delivering a range of schemes under this large rail maintenance and renewals contract involving embankments, cuttings, earthworks and drainage Duties will include:
  • Engagement with designers and sub-contractors at tender stage
  • Analyse quotations and ensure pricing reflects the requirements
  • Coordinating Take Offs
  • Liaising with clients, design teams and stakeholders
  • Pricing and researching alternative designs, materials and methods
  • Managing tender risk and opportunity schedule
  • Attending bid and tender reviews and adjudications
  • Review evaluation criteria and developing strategies
  • Preparing the tender documentation and submission
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
  • Hold a construction or engineering related qualification to min HNC level
  • Possess previous experience in an estimating position with a recognised main contractor
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Civil Engineering sector, rail experience is advantageous
  • Strong commercial acumen and fully competent in producing measurements, take offs and first principle calculations  
  • Be a collaborative, team player who is able to communicate well with good presentation skills
