Mechanical Estimator Responsibilities:

Support the estimating team with bids and tenders
Prepare and submit cost estimates using estimating software
Work with engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to develop accurate estimates
Analyse drawings and specifications to determine costs
Identify alternative design solutions and value engineering options
Manage tendering processes and negotiations
Maintain a directory of suppliers and subcontractors
Mentor junior team members and monitor targets
Organise and control tender documentation

Mechanical Estimator Requirements:

Experience with a Mechanical & Electrical subcontractor
Proficiency in estimating software
Strong budgeting and cost-planning skills
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
