Job Title: Analysis Engineer – Sensor to Effect
Salary: Up to £52,000, depending on experienceÂ
Location: Bristol (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4 Â days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
The opportunity:
The FCAS (Future Combat Air Systems) is currently in its conception stage, moving into design and development in just over a year. This role involves working as part of the team who are supporting the FCAS design ensuring that all elements work together to deliver effects throughout an engagement. This complex set of interlinking elements (known as the Sense to Effect or Kill Chain) is vital to the success of the FCAS, and you will play a key role in ensuring that it is fit for purpose.
Your role as an experienced engineer in the Kill Chain Demonstration team will be to act with autonomy and authority to bring about and deliver a series of studies (by developing bespoke in-house tools) to learn key details about the performance of the kill chain in a quantified way. You will work closely with other teams to convert these findings into requirements.
What we're looking for from you:
- Eagerness to collaborate and work with others is essential (both within the team and with other engineering teams)
- Experience developing reusable programmes in a high level programming language would be a strong advantage (e.g. Matlab, Python, C++ etc…)
- Eagerness to work autonomously, and take ownership for delivery
- Experience or willingness to learn to operate within the Scrum framework and adopt AGILE values and behaviours
- Experience creating dynamic models of interlinked systems would be an advantage
- Experience analysing system behaviour, and/or deriving system requirements would be beneficial
