What you'll do:

As a Lead Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Engineer, you will be at the forefront of driving change and innovation. You will be responsible for influencing and driving the adoption of SRE best practices within our microservices. Your role will involve collaborating with infrastructure engineers to ensure resilience and scalability across the platform. You will also be tasked with observing, investigating, and fixing service issues using an engineering mindset - resolving these through code changes and implementing improvements to prevent repeat issues.

* Influence and drive the adoption of SRE best practices within our microservices* Collaborate with infrastructure engineers to ensure resilience and scalability across the platform* Observe, investigate & fix service issues with an engineering mentality - resolving via code changes and implementing improvements to prevent repeat issues* Implement further automation and reduce toil by utilising existing Cloud tooling or implementing new technologies* Work across multiple labs and signature projects in the Digital space* Mentor other engineers in SRE best practices

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Lead Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Engineer position will bring a wealth of experience from a software engineering or telemetry background. You should have hands-on experience building and administering Kubernetes clusters in a production environment. Your ability to quickly understand, update, and write code in languages such as Python, Java, Golang BASH and PowerShell will be crucial to your success in this role. A strong understanding of DevOps, including experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines such as Terraform and Jenkins, is also essential.

* Experience working with a broad set of GCP products or extensive experience with another Public Cloud platform such as Azure or AWS* Hands-on experience building and administering Kubernetes clusters in a production environment* Experience automating/scripting to remove toil* Ability to quickly understand, update and write code in languages such as Python, Java, Golang BASH and PowerShell* Experience monitoring SLO's, SLI's and SLAs and logging updates and alerting where appropriate* Strong understanding of DevOps including experience of Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines such as Terraform and Jenkins
