My client is an international metals business with a worldwide reputation for quality. Due to a continued growth in orders and bringing in new machinery, they are recruiting for a full time and Permanent Saw Operator on a rotational shift pattern for their facility in Avonmouth, Bristol.

Rotational Shifts:

Wk 1 - Mon to Fri (Apply online only)

Wk 2 - Mon to Wed (Apply online only), Thurs (Apply online only) (Friday off)

Salary = 28,411pa including the shift allowance.

*** Experience driving a FLT and previous use band and/or panel saws is a must ***

Duties:

  • Checking material allocated to be cut, length, width, thickness, spec, alloy, grain direction, lot number before cutting
  • Checking cut plan, and any additional drawings to agree with advised sizes on sale order before cutting
  • Cuts and verifies parts are within customer required tolerances, using tape, micrometer, and caliper instruments
  • Program saw for cutting operation.
  • Marking each part with hard stamp, grain flow, USD, lot number
  • Labelling each part with any required SP requirements
  • Performing daily maintenance checks to metal saw
  • Weighing all cut pieces and rems
  • Ensuring all cut material is on a fit for purpose pallet or skids for safe packaging
  • Operating fork trucks and jib cranes when required
  • Maintain Quality standards throughout the operational process and assists and develops process improvements to drive the company forward
  • Manual lifting up to 20kgs
  • Ensuring productivity sheets are completed each day

Person Specification:

  • Basic mathematical skills including add, subtract, divide, common fractions and decimals
  • Experience operating machinery and/or metal processing
  • Knowledge of a production facility and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy
  • Able to communicate with individuals at all levels
  • Good team working skills
  • Time management
  • Willing to work extra to meet deadlines and when the business needs require
