Weights and Mass Properties Engineer - Bristol, UK.

Our Aerospace client based in Bristol, UK require the support of a Weights and Mass Properties Engineer, to be engaged on a contract basis. The successful engineer will be engaged on a defence program, requiring BPSS Security clearance initially and then SC level clearance. You must be living and working in the UK currently. This role is offered on a Hybrid arrangement split between our client's offices and home working. This role is deemed inside IR35 regulations and will therefore be on a PAYE basis.

Activity will be focussed on aero-structures where you will be engaged on a multitude of Airframe Development projects potentially on Fuselage, Wing, Tails and In-Flight opening door structures.

Weights and Mass Properties Engineer Skillset:

Provide component and detailed mass properties (weight, centre of gravity, inertia) and contribute to the component optimisation process.
  • Define weight status, target weights (detailed parts and component level), route to target and track weight risk & opportunities.
  • Calculate delivery component weight, and perform actual weight and balance measurement on detail parts, assemblies and components.
  • Contribute in design reviews, weight maturity reviews and weight savings.
  • Collaborate with many technical disciplines to understand and to challenge the component design in the quest for optimum weight.
