Job Title:Contracts Manager

Location:South West Region, predominantly Bristol Area

Thorn Baker's Award-Winning Civils Specialist client is looking for a Contracts Manager to support the division to achieve its Business Plan through the implementation of the agreed operational process, proactive management of project teams and client relationships and professional, mature, collaborative involvement in the wider operational delivery team.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of NEC4 contracts
  • Must have sufficient operational and/or commercial experience in a similar roleto understand fully how a project can and should be managed
  • Degree qualified e.g. Civil Engineering, an operational background would be highly desirable
  • Excellent Communication and Management skills

Your Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the work outputs and responsibilities of direct reports
  • Manages and supports others to provide a collaborative working environment where controlled autonomy is given allowing the team to thrive perform to a high standard, individually and collectively.
  • Responsible for ensuring projects are delivered with efficiency, using best practice and continually improving.
  • Responsible to understanding, reviewing and suggesting reasonable improvements to the management system, in conjunction with the wider business, to ensure it delivers desirable outcomes.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining good quality, professional and productive relationships with the clients, suppliers and colleagues before, during and after completion of individual projects
  • Must continually seek out opportunity for improvement in delivery of projects in the short, medium and long term. Must also identify risks which exist or are likely to exist and develop means to mitigate the effects of those risks occurring.
  • Responsible for achieving reasonably set operational targets on projects using process and procedure which is passed down and embedded within the wider integrated management system. Where outcomes and process conflict, responsible for making those conflicts known to the operations Manager with evidence to provide substantive professional statement.
  • Prepare and maintain projects from post order and pre-construction phase through to completion of works.
  • Liaise with contractors, clients, and site management to ensure smooth operation and client satisfaction.
  • Keepaccurate and detailedrecords on items that cause delay, disruption, and other costs to the business.
