Finance Business Partner - Risk and Insurance

Are you an experience Risk and Insurance professional looking for the next challenge in your career? My client is looking for someone to manage and direct staff within Insurance services. You will play a key role in ensuring Risk Management and Insurance Service Plan objectives are achieved.

As the Finance Business Partner you will create, implement and monitor the Risk Financing policy to protect the assets and liabilities. You will play a significant role in increasing the risk management awareness and knowledge within the council.

Key responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner

  • Lead on Risk Management activities, developing a Risk Management strategy
  • Create, implement and review the Risk Financing policy
  • Educate the wider organisation on risk management
  • Co-ordinate the corporate risk register and reporting arrangements
  • Be responsible for contracts relating to insurance, related services and claims handling
  • Set and monitor insurance budgets, meeting service levels in a cost effective way
  • Develop annual work plans, ensuring effective deployment of resources

Required skills and experience of the Finance Business Partner

  • Strong knowledge of Risk Management and Insurance within the Public Sector
  • Understanding of legal liability claims against local authorities
  • Knowledge of local government decision making processes
  • Experience of claims handling within Public Sector
  • Previous managerial experience
  • ACCI certified or equivalent
