OVERVIEW: HGV AND BUS & COACH MOTOR VEHICLE TRAINER

We are currently seeking a Heavy Goods Vehicle professional with a genuine desire for people development.

This is a full-time on-site role for a PSV/HGV Trainer in Bristol. The PSV/HGV Trainer will be responsible for delivering training in Heavy Vehicle and Bus and Coach disciplines, conducting practical training sessions, assessing trainees, and maintaining training records.

Ideally you will have experience delivering training and will possess either an Assessor's Award or a teaching qualification (PTLLS or above). If you do not hold these qualifications but have a genuine desire to move into a training role, enjoy working in a learning environment and hold sound experience in the Heavy Vehicle Maintenence sector, my client would like to hear from you. Training will be provided for the right candidate.

THE ROLE OF THE HGV AND BUS & COACH MOTOR VEHICLE TRAINER

This position involves assessing and supporting apprentices working within Heavy Vehicle maintenance and repair. The role combines coaching, assessment, and skills development, ensuring apprentices gain the technical expertise and knowledge required to succeed in the industry.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE: HGV AND BUS & COACH MOTOR VEHICLE TRAINER

  • Extensive experience in HGV, Heavy Vehicle, or Motor Vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant Motor Vehicle or Heavy Vehicle subject.
  • Strong practical skills with the ability to coach and assess apprentices in a real-world environment.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills, with a passion for developing future talent.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES: HGV AND BUS & COACH MOTOR VEHICLE TRAINER

  • Recognised assessor qualification (e.g., Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent), or willing to work towards.
  • Teaching or training qualification (e.g., Award in Education & Training or equivalent), or willing to work towards.
