Excellent opportunity to join an established and growing data science department at a leading financial services business. The department operate a bit like an internal consultancy and rotate between different departments, supporting the end to end development of machine learning & data science products for the business. Youll work on a wide variety of projects from classical machine learning through to Gen AI.

What youll be doing

Youll lead on projects as part of a team of Data Scientists on a range of data science & ML projects providing real business value for your stakeholders. Whether its finance, pricing, marketing, customer services and more, youll get to know your business stakeholders and help solve challenges with data science & ML techniques. The business have a very established data science & ML offering across their global operation and youll get to tap into some real experts to help develop your skills and career. This is a Lead role, so looking for someone who has coached, developed and mentored junior staff. It will be up to the successful candidate if they want to develop this role into a formal line management role or not. Theyre open to both.

What experience youll need to apply
  • A degree in a data-focused field like Computer Science, Statistics, or Data Science or a solid STEM background.
  • Excellent Python development skills.
  • Experience working in a financial services business or other enterprise size business is a preference.
  • Proven expertise on leading projects developing and deploying end-to-end Machine Learning models for business challenges.
  • A broad understanding across classical ML, deep learning & Gen AI
  • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Effective communication skills for seamless collaboration across diverse technical levels.
