The Mechanical Design Engineer is required to improve the quality of the manufacturing process using various quality tools. Full training and development in company and manufacturing systems with excellent starting salary.

The Role:

Reporting to the Design Manager, the design engineer is responsible for mechanical design changes derived from engineering changes, continuous improvements, new product requirements and marketing; from conceptual design (internal or external) through to serial manufacture.

It is required that all designs must incorporate a design for manufacture philosophy, using sound engineering practice, exceed customer expectations and meet the high standards of quality required in accordance with processes and principles, whilst considering the financial aspects of each design.

The candidate:

  • Mechanical Design/Draughting
  • Solidworks experience
  • Able to produce 2D and 3D Drawings
  • Detailed design experience
  • Understanding manufacturing processes
  • Degree or HNC ideally
  • Plastics experience ideal, not essential
