A lovely school in Yate are looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. They are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant who has experience with SEN / ASD / ADHD.

  • ASAP Start
  • £85.33 - £120 per day, depending on experience
  • Full - Time - Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • Term time only
  • BS37 location, easily accessible by public transport

This SEMH Teaching Assistant role in Yate will be working with a Year 6 pupil 1:1 who has ASD and ADHD. Your role as SEMH Teaching Assistant may include, but not be limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting children's behaviour for learning in the classroom.
  • Helping children with their understanding of the teacher's instructions.
  • Working with individual learners in the classroom 1:1, or working with individuals or small groups in the Learning Support department.
  • Keeping track and recording pupil progress.

What we need from you

  • Maths and English GCSE grade A*- C / 9 - 4 or equivalent
  • Experience working with children - for example tutoring, coaching, mentoring, childcare, assisting in a nursery, or similar experience within a classroom.
  • Confident to converse with parents, students and members of the public
  • Resilient and confident to work with challenging behaviour
