We are currently seeking a qualified SEND Teaching Assistant to join our on-site provision, providing dedicated support to two students with an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) diagnosis. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a direct impact on the learning and development of students with additional needs, ensuring that they have the tools and support they need to thrive in their educational journey.

As a SEND TA, you will work under the guidance of an experienced SEND teacher, providing one-to-one and small group support. Your role will involve assisting students with their learning, helping to implement strategies to support their social, emotional, and academic development. You will also help with behaviour management, ensuring that the students are comfortable and engaged in the classroom setting.

This is a full-time role in a primary school setting, with the opportunity to work within a close-knit, supportive team of professionals. The school’s inclusive environment values the contribution of every member of staff, and you will be part of a team that works collaboratively to meet the diverse needs of all students. Parents and carers are an integral part of the school community, and you will be encouraged to engage with them regularly to ensure the best outcomes for the students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with ASD
  • Assist with the implementation of tailored learning plans and interventions
  • Support students with social communication, behaviour management, and emotional well-being
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and carers
