Your new companyThis South Bristol primary school is looking for an SEND Teaching Assistant to start immediately until the end of the academic year. They require a flexible Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil on a full-time basis. The school has a strong and supportive staff team that will welcome the successful candidate.
Your new roleFor this Teaching Assistant job, you will be working in a KS1 class supporting a child with additional support needs - currently undiagnosed. At times, you will be working outside the class with the pupils, so experience of planning and preparing resources is essential based around the pupils' interests.
The job will involve supporting the child in their everyday activities and requires experience of supporting people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will keep daily and weekly reports on the progress of the child and report back to both the SENCo and parents.
What you'll need to succeed
- SEND experience is essential within a school setting.
- You will have specific school-based experience in a Teaching Assistant job.
- Two previous long-term placement references completed
- It is desirable to hold NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications.
