Principal Ecologist

There is an opportunity for a Principal Ecologist to join an environmental company near Bristol! The role is a remote position, with the option to go into the office. You will have the opportunity to lead and manage a variety of ecological projects, providing expert guidance on environmental assessments and biodiversity strategies.

Key Responsibilities;

Lead and manage ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact studies for various projects.
Conduct and oversee field surveys, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, and ecological monitoring.
Prepare and review ecological reports
Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing expert advice and guidance on ecological issues.
Mentor and support junior ecologists, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, planning policies, and environmental standards.

You will ideally have;

Experience within an ecological consultancy or a related field.
A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline. A master's degree or PhD is advantageous.
Experience with ecological survey techniques, data analysis, and report writing. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation, planning regulations, and best practices in ecological management.
A proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work with a positive impact.
