Role: Electrical Engineer

Location : Bristol (hybrid-working)

Salary: up to 40,000

We are seeking an electrical engineer with a broad range of skills to join our team and work on the design, drawing, test, commissioning, and support of boat monitoring electrical systems.

The company designs and builds its products and develops all the software in-house.

You will have high levels of self-motivation and a strong drive to learn. You show enthusiasm for new technical solutions, services and continuous improvement and are not afraid to think outside the box. You will have the willingness to adapt to varying demands of the role throughout our busy periods. You will have at least 2 years commercial experience.

This position requires someone who is comfortable working with both electrical monitoring hardware and software, with good communication skills when engaging with customers.

Working alongside the head of engineering you will be responsible for:

  • Initial engagement with customers to establish boat monitoring requirements and interfaces to existing on-vessel electrical systems
  • Electrical design of systems - these can be quite simple DIN-rail mounted equipment retrofitted to existing vessels or more complex cabinet-mounted equipment for new vessels
  • Creating electrical drawings and instructions for installation of equipment on a vessel by a contracted technician
  • Remotely supporting electrical technicians to install and commission equipment
  • Supporting customers with their ongoing use of our products and software, including troubleshooting problems remotely.
  • Experience with PLC Programming is a bonus

Key skills:

  • This position requires someone who is comfortable working with both electrical monitoring hardware and software, with good communication skills when engaging with customers.
