This exciting role involves working on the UK's next-generation SSN design, incorporating cutting-edge technology from the UK, Australia, and the United States. As part of the Electrical Power Systems Definition team, you will be instrumental in defining the system elements required for the submarine design and build process.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading & managing an engineering team to deliver the functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment
  • Managing the processes and reviews of technical documentation
  • Managing associated technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies
  • Providing advice on electrical power technical aspects across a broad range of engineering disciplines
  • Engaging with customers and suppliers to provide solutions to complex problems
  • Taking a leading role by guiding the team through the systems definition process
  • Providing leadership and mentoring of more junior team members to ensure the necessary capability and skills development


Job Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent engineering background
  • Engineering Chartership required (or demonstrated equivalent experience)
  • Significant knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team Leadership experience

This role offers the opportunity to travel to locations throughout the UK, including various BAE, customer, and supplier sites. Relocation support packages are available across all submarines roles, subject to eligibility criteria.
