Field Service Engineer - Packaging Technology

The Role: As a Field Service Engineer, you will join a global service organisation committed to delivering excellent customer support and contributing to the profitable growth of their clients in the pharmaceutical and food sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and maintain new packaging lines to meet agreed specifications
- Conduct site acceptance tests and troubleshoot equipment issues across secondary packaging equipment
- Provide customer training on routine maintenance and operation of packaging equipment
- Resolve electrical, mechanical, and software issues, identifying root causes
- Liaise with the engineering team when necessary for complex problem-solving
- Manage customer expectations and provide detailed reporting following site visits
- Support product trials and work efficiently to minimize downtime
- Engage in ongoing product training to stay current with the latest equipment developments
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in field service, preferably in packaging engineering
- Qualifications in Mechatronics, mechanical or electrical engineering
- Understanding of FMCG & GMP manufacturing industry
- Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and software engineering
- Knowledge of modern and legacy control systems
- Experience with high-speed packaging machine adjustment and optimization
- Understanding of PLC theory and implementation (e.g., RsLogix, Simatic Step7)
Essential Skills:
- Commercial awareness with ability to identify business opportunities
- Strong customer service orientation
- Excellent prioritization skills to meet challenging deadlines
- Willingness to travel and work remotely
- Full driving license
