Field Service Engineer - Packaging Technology

The Role: As a Field Service Engineer, you will join a global service organisation committed to delivering excellent customer support and contributing to the profitable growth of their clients in the pharmaceutical and food sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, and maintain new packaging lines to meet agreed specifications
  • Conduct site acceptance tests and troubleshoot equipment issues across secondary packaging equipment
  • Provide customer training on routine maintenance and operation of packaging equipment
  • Resolve electrical, mechanical, and software issues, identifying root causes
  • Liaise with the engineering team when necessary for complex problem-solving
  • Manage customer expectations and provide detailed reporting following site visits
  • Support product trials and work efficiently to minimize downtime
  • Engage in ongoing product training to stay current with the latest equipment developments

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in field service, preferably in packaging engineering
  • Qualifications in Mechatronics, mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Understanding of FMCG & GMP manufacturing industry
  • Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and software engineering
  • Knowledge of modern and legacy control systems
  • Experience with high-speed packaging machine adjustment and optimization
  • Understanding of PLC theory and implementation (e.g., RsLogix, Simatic Step7)

Essential Skills:

  • Commercial awareness with ability to identify business opportunities
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent prioritization skills to meet challenging deadlines
  • Willingness to travel and work remotely
  • Full driving license
