This role supports the design and build of hardware for training products. Best suited to a pragmatic, problem-solving engineer skilled in PCB design, hardware-software integration, and prototyping. You should be comfortable with design processes, documentation, and working with external suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Translate product requirements into integrated hardware and application functionalities.
- Collaborate with the Software Team to outline hardware needs and ensure effective integration into products.
- Participate in feasibility studies to identify viable development solutions.
- Develop and optimise system firmware.
- Oversee subcontractor efforts to ensure PCBAs meet specified standards.
- Hands-on with ECAD tools like EAGLE, Altium, and OrCad.
- Experienced in taking products from concept through to manufacture.
- Familiar with EMC certification and skilled in board-level testing and SMT rework.
- Comfortable using tools like oscilloscopes, waveform generators, spectrum analysers, and DMMs.
- Strong in real-time embedded C, audio electronics, motor control, and power electronics (DC-DC, battery-powered, high/low-power).
This role offers a salary of £48K, plus an annual bonus of up to 5%. Youll work mostly in the office, one day a week from home.
