Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a HR Business Partner for our client a local government organisation in Bristol.
The successful candidate will lead HR support to the Housing directorate as well as contributing to wider organisational culture change.
Work closely with senior leaders and other key stakeholders to design and deliver HR strategies that support the needs of the directorate and the wider organisation. Offer expert advice, promoting a culture of inclusivity, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Leading a small consultancy team, their oversight will ensure high and consistent standards in employee relations and a collaborative approach across both HR and the organisation.
This is initially a 6 month contract with the possibility to extend after that date. This role is hybrid working.
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Build strong professional working relationships with clients, colleagues, trade unions and staff-led groups.
- Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, helping senior leaders make informed decisions and promote best practice in people management.
- Support the implementation of change management, using data and research to inform strategic direction. Engage with leaders to drive equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) efforts, working to create an inclusive workforce.
- Support and challenge in leadership discussions, sometimes in face of significant resistance, to improve decision-making.
- Coach and influence senior leaders to consider the ethical impact of their decisions, taking a visible lead in solving employee relations and ethical dilemmas.
Personal Requirements:
- Professional member of the CIPD at MCIPD, or equitable demonstrable experience and CIPD qualified to Level 7.
- Extensive senior-level experience in HR and Organizational Development within a heavily unionized setting, including significant expertise in consulting and negotiating modifications to employment terms and conditions.
- The capacity to swiftly establish robust working relationships across all levels is essential.
- Familiarity with both the Green and Red Books is required.
- A proactive and strategic approach, with the foresight to identify and address potential challenges.
- Exceptional leadership abilities to motivate and nurture your team while ensuring performance and accountability are maintained.
- A comprehensive understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), along with a proven history of promoting inclusivity within organizations.
- Experience in leveraging data and digital tools to enhance decision-making and improve services.
Working Hours: 37hrs / 9:00am - 17:00pm / Monday to Friday
Pay: £36.60 p/h
