Part-Time Interim Employee Relations Project Specialist - 21 Hours per week.

Our forward thinking services client, with c. 1,000 employees and its head office based in the centre of Bristol is looking to change the way they manage Employee Relations within the organisation. With that in mind we are looking for an inspirational Employee Relations Specialist to lead a 9 month strategic ER project working part-time, 21 hours per week with one day a week in the office, preferably Monday. We need someone who is available to start at the beginning of May.

The role will be to assess current ER practice and policy with a view to making recommendations to address gaps and implement improvements to ensure compliance and standardisation. In addition it will be to identify and recommend an outsourced HR/ER provider to manage complex ER issues. In conjunction with that, the project is to create an effective toolkit and development initiatives for internal managers to improve their capability to undertake less complex ER resolution and day to day operational ER activity.

In addition to the project you will also be responsible for the end to end management of complex ER cases with managers across the business, using your observations to inform your proposals.

Once an outsourced ER/HR provider has been identified, there will be a need to establish performance metrics to evaluate the outsourced provider’s effectiveness in managing ER cases.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in the management and resolution of complex employee relations issues and HR policy development.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with a focus on delivering results within tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to manage diverse stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in vendor management and outsourced HR service models is desirable.
  • Evidence of having developed and gained engagement to new ways of working through the implementation of leading edge Employee Relations practice and process which has added value to the organisation.
  • Credible, with the gravitas to influence effectively at all levels.
  • A strong coach with experience of creating development initiatives which improve managers’ ER capability.
