This National Facilities Services company based in Bristol, specialising in a wide range of projects off the back of their planned and reactive maintenance contracts. Recently experiencing significant growth, they pride themselves on delivering the highest quality service to clients and are now looking for a versatile Estimator to join the growing team. My client are looking for an individual with experience in estimating in the Facilities Management/Building Services sector, specialising in mechanical and electrical works. They are looking for a candidate with passion, drive and looking to develop their wider Business Development skills in support of the Business Development Manager (BDM) and wider business objectives. The Estimator / Planner, Maintenance Estimator role will involve- Analyse projects, specifications, and visiting site to assess works.
- Preparing accurate costs for materials, labour and services to prepare customer quotations.
- Review and adjust estimates based on project scope changes.
- Respond to technical queries raised by customers and suppliers.
- Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors to achieve the best 'value for money' and organise best lead times
- Interpreting customer specifications, ITTs and asset lists. Identifying items within scope and out of scope, to ensure competitive bids are submitted.
- Coordinate with team members, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and ability to pick up internal works management systems.
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and business strategies
- Assist the BDM is wider bid preparation works, including attending sales meetings, inputting to quality/narrative components
- Candidates who are currently involved in planning or estimating from a M&E, FM or maintenance environment.
- Excellent attention to detail especially when working with costs and numbers.
- It would be advantageous if you have completed or are working towards a Quantity Surveying or Construction Management qualification.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and works management type systems, but training will be provided on the company’s system.
- Able to work on their own initiative but in a team environment with colleagues, interacting with all team members.
- Keen to develop and hone their Business Development skills, including attending client meetings and assisting with the wider elements of tender proposals.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
