CCL Global are currently recruiting for a number of Project Engineers for the Nuclear sector supporting Electrical Study and Equipment packages  for across SZC across the following disciplines:

  • Mechanical/Civil Systems & Interfaces
  • Mechanical/Fluid Systems
  • Equipment Qualification
  • Contract Development & Start-Up

Working within the SZC Equipment Contracts Team, this service will support the delivery of nuclear power plant Emergency and Ultimate Diesel Generators (EDG/UDG) to the client, from external suppliers, through the following activities:

Location: Bristol, UK.

Type of Contract: Contract inside IR35(1 year).

Key duties will include:

  • Supporting the development of a complex, high-value, turn-key contract package, including the following:
  • Development of Invitation-To-Tender (ITT) technical documents, including definition of Tender outputs, Tender evaluation criteria and methods.
  • Development of Tender Assessment Report (TAR) and supporting records to a very high level of quality.
  • Organising and managing technical discipline experts to review Tender submissions.
  • Organising and managing supplier interactions to clarify technical details, including detailed records.
  • Integrating technical updates into the technical specifications and associated technical delivery documents where necessary to define the contract delivery requirements, including the coordination of technical specialist inputs.
  • Support/manage contract kick-off activities including creation of technical briefing packs and workshops, coordinating inputs from technical specialists as necessary.
  • Following contract preparation and initiation activities the role is expected to continue to cover contract start-up and execution activities, including the following:
  • Perform/coordinate surveillance and approval of contractor deliverables and design activities.
  • Resolution activities for multi-disciplinary technical issues and queries, including input to/ownership of resolving technical Open Points (OP), interface queries and Design Changes (UKDC).
  • Liaise with other RD and client teams to ensure integration of equipment with interfacing functions, systems and structures.
  • Awareness of contract commercial structures and working practices, including supplier management is necessary.

Standard office working (3d/we average in office) & potential requirement to travel on occasion.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of Emergency Diesel Generators or similar multi-disciplinary nuclear power plant equipment.
  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Science discipline
  • Understanding of the EPR or general PWR design
  • IT literate
  • Experience on the design, development, analysis, testing and approval/acceptance of safety classified equipment.
  • Sound understanding of nuclear equipment regulations such as RCC-E.
  • Familiarity with the UK nuclear regulatory environment and associated safety case discipline.
  • Capable of producing technical specifications
  • Experience of equipment supply contracts and contract forms such as NEC/FIDIC.
  • Experience of supplier management/oversight
  • French-speaking would be an advantage
  • Experience using change-management, commercial and deliverable management systems (UKDC, UKICM, OPM, CEMAR, Teamcenter) is advantageous.
