The responsibilities of the Technical Officer will be:

  • Responsible for assisting the Principal Permit Engineer in the day to day management of the Highway Permits process ensuring that the Streetworks register system is available at all times during the working day
  • To advise on the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA)
  • Under the overall guidance of the team manager, take the lead on assigned team initiatives and/or service development and delivery objectives, ensuring the effective deployment of delegated resources (money, staff and information) to achieve agreed targets.
  • To work at a technical/professional level in the allocated Transport Team. To coordinate tasks and/or small complex team initiatives using appropriate techniques to ensure that agreed actions and service delivery targets are met. Assist with the delivery of Streetworks Permit Scheme as required by the team manager. The post-holder will occasionally be required to work outside standard working hours.
