Tate are working with a local authority in their search for a SEND Tribunal Manager on a temporary basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all tribunal appeals in line with SEND related policies and SEND Regulations so that statutory timescales are met, data capture is accurate and reporting and analysis is available as required.
- Manage the effective statutory assessment process (identification and assessment) for children and young people with additional learning needs/special educational needs and disability (SEND) in line with the SEND Code of Practice and Children and Families Act.
- Manage the effective review of Education and Health Care Plans in line with the SEND Code of Practice ensuring needs are being met, progress made and preparing for Adulthood outcomes are being delivered.
- Be a key part of a range of meetings, to include, Tribunal Hearings, the Chairing of Resource Allocation Panels, along with other forums and key meetings.
- Consult upon and negotiate appropriate placements in partnership with parents/carers so that the assessed needs of children and young people are met.
- Support schools and other educational establishments in providing suitable alternative placements for children and young people employing a range of strategies as appropriate.
- Provide advice, guidance, support to schools and partner agencies.
