Role Overview:

As a Business Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a small portfolio of clients, overseeing their accounting records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of both clients and the business alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and review of statutory accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Manage external relationships and liaise with clients to understand their financial needs and requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation of management accounts, VAT returns, and other financial reports.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and tax returns.
  • Ensure deadlines are met and that all work is completed in accordance with internal procedures and external regulations.
  • Review and maintain accounting records, ensuring they are up to date and accurate.
  • Provide advice on tax and financial matters to clients as needed.
  • Assist in audits and other ad-hoc projects as required.

Skills and Experience:

  • AAT qualified and/or studying towards the ACA/ACCA.
  • Proven experience in an accounting or audit environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Experience with accounting software packages (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and mentor junior team members.
