The Opportunity

TSR Legal are working with a leading Global law firm who are now seeking a seasoned Credit Control Senior Manager to join their Bristol team. The roles are pivotal within the firm’s finance team, focusing on leading the credit control function during a transformative period. This is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact by driving process improvements, enhancing team capabilities, and contributing to the firm’s global finance transformation programme.

The Organisation

This highly respected law firm has a dynamic and forward-thinking finance department that underpins its operations. With teams located across all their offices, the department ensures the financial health of the business and comprises several core areas:

  • Cashiering: Managing payments, including client funds and vendor invoices.
  • Billing: Preparing and issuing invoices, as well as assisting matter teams in managing WIP.
  • Credit Control: Ensuring timely and accurate receipt of payments from clients.
  • Payroll: Processing employee payroll, taxes, and expense claims.
  • Management Information: Delivering financial reports and preparing statutory accounts.

The Credit Control team plays a vital role in improving cash flow, reducing lock-up, and maintaining the firm’s strong financial position.

The Role

As Credit Control Senior Manager, you will lead the global credit control function, focusing on aligning processes and driving sustainable improvements across the firm. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will work closely with senior stakeholders to develop and implement best practices while supporting a high-performing team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the transformation of the credit control function into a centralised, standardised global model.
  • Leading the development and implementation of streamlined processes and procedures.
  • Focusing on people and team development, including identifying skills gaps and fostering a culture of growth.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the firm to align credit control practices with broader financial objectives.
  • Setting measurable targets and reporting progress on collections and key initiatives to senior stakeholders.
  • Reviewing and optimising the firm’s credit control systems to leverage their full potential.
  • Building strong relationships with partners, finance teams, and other internal stakeholders.
