Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for a Permanent Finance Business Partner for Bristol City Council.Job Purpose: Finance Business Partner

  • Responsible for delivering high quality financial advice and commercial & financial expertise to the organisation
  • Take a full and proactive approach in managing & delivering timely financial and management accounting services
  • Responsible for providing comprehensive & innovative support to senior managers & councillors on a range of propositions
  • To act as an integral member of the finance management team & drawing on specialist expertise identifying, developing & supporting opportunities and initiatives to transform the delivery of financial services & governance across the council & contribute to strategic and operational developments.

Main responsibilities: Finance Business Partner

  • Budgeting and medium long term financial planning
  • Forecasting and Financial Reporting
  • Business Partnering
  • Provide trusted proactive robust strategic and operational financial management, commercial & financial planning advice and support related to option analysis, business case development and budget management.
  • Ensure that effective financial controls are in operation
  • Oversee the detailed revenue and/or capital budgets
  • Lead on the provision of high quality financial and commercial insight,
  • Lead and coordinate development of the council's Capital and Investment Strategy
  • Lead on the development, coordination and financing of the council's capital programme

Person specification: Finance Business Partner

  • Local Authority experience
  • Fully qualified
  • Financial Management experience
  • Business Partnering experience
