Reed Finance are working with a leading Engineering/ Defence company based in North Bristol recruiting for a Finance Business Partner.

It is a broad role with varied responsibilities including assisting with the financial aspects of bidding, project set-up, and management accounting. This role involves close collaboration with practice managers, delivery and bid/project managers, and the wider finance team to ensure robust accounting procedures are in place. The position reports directly to the Senior Finance Business Partner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Business Partners of the respective markets to provide pricing and bid support to bid/project managers and directors, including overseeing the creation and integrity of bid models.
  • Collaborate with practice managers on practice performance, including productivity, volumes, and returns, while being their point of contact and driving best practice.
  • Review overhead bookings to ensure they are appropriate, and complete accruals and prepayments as required.
  • Ensure all costs attributed to the delivery of contracts are captured accurately in the financial management toolset.
  • Develop project accounting skills through training and on-the-job knowledge transfer.
  • Undertake project reviews as and when required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with operational and financial staff and management at all levels.
