Your new companyClient in North BristolYour new role In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and understanding the financial aspects of bidding, project set-up and management accounting. The role will work closely with the various stakeholder managers and Bid/project managers along with the wider finance team to ensure robust accounting procedures are in place. The role reports directly to the Senior Finance Business Partner.Your Purpose:
- Working with the Business Partners of the respective areas to provide pricing and bid support to bid / project managers & Directors, including overseeing the creation and integrity of bid models.
- Working with the practice managers covering practice performance including productivity, volumes, returns etc. Along with Being their point of contact and driving best practice.
- Review overhead bookings ensuring they are appropriate along with completing accruals and prepayments as required.
- Ensuring all costs are attributed to the delivery of contracts are captured accurately in the financial management toolset.
- Developing the project accounting skills, through training and on the job knowledge transfer.
- Undertake project reviews as and when required.
- Ad hoc projects and support to the Financial Controller.
What you'll need to succeed
- A part qualified / newly qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Business partnering experience.
- The role will require some travel.
- Well-developed commercial knowledge and business understanding. Strong technical accounting skills & knowledge and good excel skills.
- Broad understanding of tax and compliance matters.
- Strong people skills; comfortable in interacting with operational and financial staff and management at all levels of seniority.
- Well-developed communication and influencing skills. Collaborative approach.
- Attention to detail whilst still being able to work at a tactical level.
