Internal Finance Manager (Accountancy Practice)

The Client:

Our client is a well-established accountancy firm, specialising in audit, bookkeeping, payroll, VAT, and other financial services.

The Role:

As a Finance Manager, you will oversee and manage all financial activities within the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, reconciliations, and journals.
  • Report monthly on various financial and staff performance indicators.
  • Manage monthly payroll processing and oversee the company pension scheme.
  • Handle quarterly VAT returns and update Life Assurance and Sick Pay policies.
  • Assist in the production of annual accounts and budgeting.
  • Monitor cash flow and process weekly payment runs.
  • Oversee additional client services, such as tax fee protection and accounting software.
  • Review and implement changes to financial processes.
  • Maintain Xero certification and stay updated with product changes.
  • Support the Finance Assistant during peak times and cover their tasks during absences.
  • Collaborate with all departments to enhance working practices, processes, and record-keeping.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role.
  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Working knowledge of Xero; IRIS experience would be beneficial.
