Your new companyHays are working with a regional business, part of a larger group, to recruit a Finance Manager on a permanent basis. This role reports into the Finance Director and will support the day-to-day running of the finance function as the business looks to grow in the coming years. Your new roleReporting into the Finance Director and managing a small team, this role will ensure the day-to-day running of the finance function, overseeing a wide variety of tasks such as:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monitoring and report on variances across budgets
  • Oversee cost control processes and identify opportunities for savings
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Lead and develop the team, providing mentoring and developing
  • Manage project costs
  • Prepare monthly VAT returns
  • Administer payroll for employees both weekly and monthly.
  • Prepare year-end packs and liaise with external auditors

What you'll need to succeedWe are ideally looking for someone with a professional accounting qualification, although we would be open to someone that is qualified by experience or currently studying. You should be agile in dealing with different situations as and when they arise, have good attention to detail and be able to solve problems.
