Citadel Source is delighted to be partnering with an entrepreneurial owner of an SME group of companies based in North Bristol to recruit a Finance Manager. Our client who has several separate businesses within the Group portfolio (around £10m turnover, but quickly growing), is looking for a high-quality Finance Manager to support in insourcing finance across the group, working with the new CFO to bring high-quality, monthly management accounts, building budgets to offer financial insight, overseeing cashflow analysis and adding further financial rigour as the organisation continues to grow.
About the client
A fascinating opportunity to join an entrepreneurial organisation which has all the group companies of varying size and maturity growing and scaling in very different fields, from retail, technology and financial services. This role is based in Bristol, with very flexible working days and hours, although some expectation to be visible at least a day per week and to support the business if needed on an ad-hoc basis.
The role
Much of this role will be insourcing finance, creating in-house management accounts and bringing control and financial process to the organisation, across a complex structure, so will need someone either experienced, or comfortable working under their own steam and problem solving, albeit it they will have the CFO on hand for guidance. This role will have support from the new CFO to grow and will have a huge breadth and offer significant opportunity to make an impact. Once the successful candidate has built the function, they will be able to work on more strategic work and be more involved operationally across the group, this role will also oversee a junior member of staff and will be tasked with managing and supporting this individual.
About you
The successful candidate will understand the excitement and challenges of working in a small multi-faceted, fast-paced organisation, likely having worked within an SME organisation, or having worked in a reasonably 'hands-on’ role. As Finance Manager your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the directors with implementing financial processes and routines across both businesses
- Supervising and mentoring the existing Finance Assistant
- Implementing a new cashflow tool
- Work with the directors to create annual budgets and forecasts for both businesses using Fathom
- Bringing in-house the VAT, CIS and Payroll reporting and monthly management accounts
What the client offers
- A budget of £40,000 to £50,000 (this can be collected over 5 days or 3 depending on experience)
- Flexible working (1 or 2 days per week on-site) and flexible hours
