- Identify, develop and support opportunities and initiatives to transform the delivery of financial services across the organisation.
- Assist in the preparation of information for officers, elected members and the public in relation to financial issues.
- Undertake development work in response to changing financialregimes, new government legislation & initiatives.
- Lead on the co-ordination & production of the in-year monitoring reports, ensuring key monthly financial monitoring tasks assigned are achieved to a high quality.
- Lead on the collation of detailed revenue budgets including growth & transformation cost/efficiency programmes for inclusion.
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- At least 2 years experience within a Finance Manager or equivalent.
- CCAB (or equivalent) qualification with post qualification experience and evidence of continuing professional development.
- Experience of planning, motivating & controlling the work of a diverse team of Finance staff dealing with complex accounting issues.
- Have a working knowledge of business and teamworking applications, e.g. Microsoft 365 or equivalent.
