Part - Time Finance Director City Centre

Hybrid role - 3 days a week with minimum two days in the office (to include Monday)

£30,000 (£50,000 FTE) + benefits and free onsite parking

Our client is a well-known heritage organisation and charity based in Bristol City Centre. They are now seeking a part time Finance Director to provide strategic financial leadership across their portfolio which includes event spaces and a busy café.

This is a broad role, part time and hybrid and you will be responsible for

  • providing strategic financial leadership across the organisation
  • working with the Board and COO to lead the development of their financial strategy, annual budget and long-term planning
  • be a part of the Senior Management Group taking a leadership role across the whole of the organisation.
  • Oversee the preparation of year-end reports and financial statements as well as oversight of the various requirement of HMRC, including VAT, PAYE, and NI. Ensure effective financial controls are in place.
  • Ensuring there are robust and effective financial reporting processes and systems in place so that Managers, Senior Leaders and Trustees are able to make effective decisions
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations and all relevant legal frameworks.
  • You will also be involved in Governance, Property transactions and Safeguarding.

Ideally, you will need to be ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA qualified ( or equivalent) and have experience of leading a busy finance department, preparing statutory financial statements and strategic financial planning and business planning. The ideal candidate would also have experience of working within the charity, not for profit, events or heritage / cultural sectors and of managing property assets, but this is not essential.
