Key Responsibilities of the Senior Cost Manager:
- Report to the Head of Cost Management and be an integral part of the team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external clients.
- Provide technical expertise in cost management services for complex infrastructure projects.
- Analyse and control project costs, ensuring efficiency and best practices.
- Lead client engagements, ensuring seamless communication and service delivery.
- Drive innovation and best practices in cost management tools and methodologies.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver exceptional project outcomes.
Requirements of the Senior Cost Manager:
- Extensive experience in Cost Management within complex infrastructure sectors, particularly Energy & Infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of industry benchmarks, Cost and Work Breakdown Structures, and measurement methods (RMM, NRM, etc.).
- Proven ability to challenge engineering teams and identify cost-efficient design solutions.
- Experience working with Earned Value Management (EVM) and other performance measurement techniques.
- Strong commercial acumen with a background in quantity surveying.
- In-depth knowledge of Forms of Contract (NEC, FIDIC, IChemE).
- Experience using cost management software such as Power BI and others.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop junior professionals.
- Degree-qualified in construction or finance-related fields (preferably RICS, ICE, AACE, ACostE qualified or similar).
