Reed Finance is working with a leading Engineering/ Defence company in North Bristol recruiting for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join their Project Accounting team. This role involves overseeing major frameworks and projects within the division, ensuring financial compliance and regulatory reporting.

The focus will be on operational accounting activities for single source frameworks and major projects, ensuring adherence to regulations, and preparing and reviewing bids from a financial perspective. The role requires close collaboration with clients, delivery, and operational managers to ensure robust accounting procedures are in place.

Salary up to £75,000 + generous benefits + hybrid/ flexible working + ample scope for career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational and financial accounting for single source frameworks and major projects.
  • Oversee and produce financial reporting required for single source frameworks and major projects in line with government guidelines.
  • Liaise with CAAS for the annual audit of SSRO rates.
  • Advise Client Managers on strategic bids and growth areas.
  • Manage the creation and integrity of bid models across the division.
  • Develop project accounting skills through training and knowledge transfer.
  • Conduct deep dive project reviews on an ad hoc basis to ensure compliance with group policies.
  • Handle Research & Development tax credit reporting, PSA reporting, and audit coordination.

What You Bring:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with post-qualified experience.
  • Knowledge of single source regulations and reporting requirements is advantageous.
  • Well-developed commercial knowledge and business understanding.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with operational and financial staff and management at all levels.
  • Collaborative approach.
