Senior Business Support Officer - Bristol Local Authority - Debt Recovery - Rate:£16.10 an hour 37 hours a week

These roles will be a mix of office and home working, subject to agreement with the manager. This will not suit someone who isn't local to Bristol and who is unable to get into the office regularly.

We are establishing a new, centralised debt recovery team, to maximise income, reduce debt and recovery times and work with service areas across the Council to improve our processes. We are recruiting 2 Senior Business Support Officers, who can support this new team and help us identify and deliver rapid improvements

Experience in debt recovery, preferably in a local government setting.Under direction from the manager, to help coordinate a complex area covering debt recovery, taking ownership and responsibility for the end-to-end processes.Identify and pursue debtors through various means including phone calls, emails and letters.Familiarity with debt/financial software.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Understanding of relevant debt recovery lawsMake real time service decisions in response to operational issues in line with local procedures and established guidance
