The role of Ocean Import Operator is working for a Global multimodal Freight Forwarding and Logistics organisation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with previous experience within the Freight Forwarding and Ocean Imports industry. With the successful candidate joining an expanding and profitable Ocean Import department.

Duties will include:

  • Managing key account customers.
  • One file, one owner environment.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end import process, from pre-alert through to delivery.
  • Preparing quotations/rates and working with in-house tariffs.
  • Arranging and processing import bookings.
  • Processing import documentation.
  • Preparing import customs declarations to handover to the brokerage department.
  • Responsible for billing out and invoicing import files.
  • Dealing with customers, keeping them updated and aiming for resolution.
  • Liaising with overseas partners and offices.
  • Handle Oceanfreight import, FCL and LCL shipments.

This role requires a candidate who:

  • Has notable experience within Ocean Imports.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations and commercial awareness.
  • A strong attention to detail and a willingness to learning.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work in a customer-focussed environment.

The successful candidate will need to have a clean criminal record and a 5-year checkable work history.
