Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity (formerly Above & Beyond) is doing great things to improve the health and wellbeing of every patient in all 10 of the NHS Hospitals in Bristol city centre, South Bristol and Weston-Super-Mare.
They sit at the heart of one of the busiest NHS Trusts in the country: University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. As being the official charity for all ten hospitals in the Trust, the charity does great things with multi-million-pound investments back into the hospitals. Working alongside NHS staff, the charity enhances the patient experience with better environments, funds the latest technology, supports innovative treatments, and helps fund internationally important research.
We are now seeking a new CEO to lead the Charity to provide visible engaged leadership; ensure the Charity delivers high quality services, and work with the Trustees and Executive Team to develop the strategy for the organisation, with responsibility and accountability for implementing the strategy, as agreed by the Board of Trustees.
The role is multi-faceted from sustaining the financial viability of the Charity, making sure that teams work efficiently and effectively together, and working closely with local and regional health, care and civic partners. and developing a close and collaborative relationship with the Senior Leadership Team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston (UHBW) NHS Foundation Trust.
The candidate will also take overall responsibility for public relations, and maintain strong support from the local communities, ensuring that the charity has a positive external image, creating opportunities to enhance and promote the charitys philosophy, services and needs both locally and nationally. This will involve raising the profile of the organisation, including by attending and speaking regularly at a wide variety of events and acting as an ambassador for the charity.
We are seeking:
- Substantive leadership and management experience at a senior management level, within the health, social care, public or not for profit sectors.
- Leadership and management of multi-disciplinary professionals to deliver services against agreed objectives, standards, deadlines and budgets.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships, partnerships and networks with external organisations.
- Experience of leading organisations through substantive change.
