  • Candidates must hold an engineering degree and have at least two years of experience in nuclear reactor design across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • The role involves collaboration with various teams to ensure the replicability of design changes and to support configuration management processes.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and a focus on safety and quality.
  • The position offers a competitive salary, details of which will be discussed during the interview process.

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, which is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018 in charge of the design and the realisation of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide.

In particular, EDF EPR-E UK is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and preparing the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project.

At HPC we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

For the SZC Project, work on the replication strategy and some early design studies are already underway and being delivered and managed from both France and UK.

We are looking to recruit for the role of Change Replication Lead.

As a Change Replication Lead, you will be responsible for the roll out of the SZC replication strategy through close collaboration with HPC Responsible Designer (RD) project organization and monitor the HPC design changes and identify topics challenging the replication.

The Change Replication Lead is part of the Configuration Management team and reports to the Configuration Manager, within the SZC Technical Directorate department. The Configuration Management team oversees the overall configuration management for the SZC design on the Nuclear Island scope during the preparation of the Nuclear Service Agreement offer and then during the execution of the project, supporting the roll out of the replication strategy. The key mission of the team is to manage and ensure appropriate maturity of design and replication of the HPC design for all aspects.

The Role responsibilities will include:

Set-up and perform monitoring of the HPC design changes, arising both in the HPC RD backoffice and Joint Design Office (JDO), and engage with relevant Senior Architects when the replicability of the change is at challenge,

Attend the relevant Configuration Management governance forums and committees organized by HPC RD, JDO and Plant Integration Services, and engage with the relevant Senior Architects and the technical departments, to establish impact of topics presented, on the SZC replication,

Reinforce the change process to make sure it is correctly being applied and considers SZC replication strategy and relevant tags are applied to changes,

Support the technical departments in the Design Replication Justification process, by tracking and reporting on the HPC design changes, Open Points, and Technical Design Interfaces, that associated with a bundle to be initialised for replication.

Ensure the transfer of OPEX/lessons learnt from HPC and other EPRs are correctly captured and considered in relevant OPs.

To be considered the following qualifications, experience and skills are essential:

Engineering degree or equivalent

Strong knowledge and experience of design processes across multiple engineering disciplines in nuclear reactor design (at least two technical roles hold on nuclear engineering disciplines)

Technically credible with excellent negotiation and communication skills

Experience of working with transverse teams and complex environments

Pragmatic solution focused approach towards resolving technical issues

Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders,

Ability to set, achieve and maintain high standards of safety and quality
