Rates of Pay
- MONDAY - FRIDAY £18.70 AN HOUR
- SATURDAYS - £21.70 AN HOUR
- SUNDAYS - £24.70 AN HOUR
- OVERTIME AFTER 42 HOURS- £24.00 AN HOUR
Day to Day Duties
Your duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:
- Store deliveries - one to four drops a day delivering palletised goods, some deliveries may have items on rails.
- Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
- Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
- Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
- Assist with loaded and unloading of cargo as needed
Essential Skills
As a Class 1 Driver you will need to:
- Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
- Have a minimum of 12 months experience driving CE vehicles
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
- Have a valid UK CPC Card & UK Digi Card
- Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
- Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
- Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience making multi drop deliveries will be beneficial
- Store delivery experience
Training
- Driver's Assessment and driver knowledge test will have to be completed
- After successful Assessment, there will be a paid induction
