Westlakes Recruit are currently looking for several Engineering and Project Support Specialists
Key responsibilities will be:

  • Serving as the representative of the Responsible Designer HVAC contract team in various meetings with NNB and the supplier
  • Reporting on the progress of post-handover technical open points during fortnightly dedicated meetings with the contractor and our client
  • Monitoring contractor's deliverables related to handover activities (Seismic calculation notes, HVAC Release Report, and HVAC database)
  • Tracking the key milestones for building handovers - Basic Design Package Hand Over to the HK2721 HVAC Contractor, start for Detailed Design by the HK2721 HVAC Contractor, Supplier's feedback: 3D model, Duct/support Seismic Calculation, Updated HVAC Data Base (HDB), final check of the aeraulic calculations and Fans selection, final noise study, work Ready for manufacturing for ducts and supports, work Ready for manufacturing for main plant HVAC equipment, start of manufacturing
  • Coordinating and conducting technical assessments of the impacts of CCRs (Contractor Change Requests)
  • Managing the processing of modifications, including monitoring progress, using performance indicators, and generating reports when needed
  • Updating the HVAC database and managing CTS (Change Transfer Sheet) issue to NNB according to the schedule





Qualifications

  • Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering degree or equivalent qualification L2 or L3
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience of layout engineering, or relevant experience. (important for the role)
  • Knowledge and experience of PDMS, E3D, Navisworks (important for the role)
  • Knowledge of HVAC system and equipment (AHU, fans, filters, water coils)
  • HVAC knowledge of Pressurised Water Reactor system design principles
  • Experience of working on an EPR project, operating plant or on an industrial site
  • Ability to effectively manage own and team's workload to meet the deadlines and KPI forecast and to communicate clearly and accurately
  • Proactive and confident in communicating with others, particularly those based in remote offices
  • Ability to prioritise, manage numerous tasks with other stakeholders and experience in project configuration management
