Field Engineer Role

Reports to: Operations DirectorOffice hours: Full-Time - Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.00pm

About the RoleThis is a dynamic and fast-paced opportunity within a managed service environment. The role requires a strong technical background, excellent customer service, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently to meet customer needs.

The TeamAs part of the Service Assurance team, you will be responsible for attending customer sites to install, maintain, and troubleshoot system issues. You'll contribute to the efficient operation of the in-house team while delivering exceptional service to clients.

Role SummaryYou will collaborate with provisioning and sales teams to ensure solutions are designed and delivered to meet customer expectations. This includes attending project meetings and providing regular updates to stakeholders during the project delivery phase.

Responsibilities

  • Install cloud telephony systems.
  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, Wi-Fi, VPN, QoS).
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
  • Monitor performance to ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Consult with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Deliver strong communication and customer service.
  • Work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Enjoy problem-solving tasks.
  • Experience with cabling is desirable.

Skills & Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in cloud telephony installation and support.
  • Solid understanding of the SIP telephony protocol.
  • Proven hands-on?network engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Draytek, Ruckus, and UniFi equipment.
  • Deep understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
