General Manager Farrington Park

Would you like to be one of our General Managers for an exciting new countryside hospitality brand in the UK?

My entrepreneurial client is making waves right now by creating a brand new modern, fun and inclusive golf, leisure and hospitality experience and is now recruiting for a General Manager at Farrington Park.

This is an exciting new role which will be instrumental in the launch and opening of our new lifestyle experience brand. To add to the excitement, as well as launching this new brand, my client will also be expanding as a group and will be opening more new sites.

About the Company

The Founders previously launched Bel and The Dragon, created Third Space Health Clubs & Luxury Gyms and Co-founded Beaverbrook Luxury Country House Hotel & Beaverbrook Town House.

My client is now reinventing the traditional golf experience by creating an innovative leisure led concept. As well as various golf, leisure and hospitality experiences, they will also deliver a unique accommodation offering which will include cutting edge eco cabins in the natural setting think the dwelling of the Hobbit!

Whilst offering fun and inclusive activities and experiences, they will also become an environmentally socially and economically sustainable leader in hospitality.

Currently having sites in Bristol, Exeter, Alton and Farnham, and more to follow in the future. The exciting plans for the re-development of each site include:

  • A re-designed 12-hole golf course, including some new innovative features
  • A brand-new Putting Course and Driving Range
  • New leisure activities such as Pickleball and Padel Tennis
  • A brand-new food and beverage provision with two different offerings
  • The facilities to offer corporate events and private events, including weddings
  • Sustainable Eco Cabin Accommodation
  • An Outdoor Woodland Wellbeing Experience

About the Role

Initially, the General Manager will be instrumental in the launch and opening of the site. This will include setting up the site along with recruiting, on-boarding and training a whole new team.

Reporting to the Head of Hospitality, this role will lead the management team at Farrington Park whilst working closely with the Head of Golf, Executive Chef and the wider Senior Leadership Team.

Managing and overseeing a team, this role will motivate and lead a team to ensure they are fully engaged in delivering the best visitor experience possible.

This is a varied and hands on role which will involve working in all areas and departments, including Duty Management shifts and you need to be happy to work some weekends as this is the busiest time for the business!

About the Person

We are looking for a strong General Manager who is:

  • A proven people manager and inspirational leader who leads from the front
  • Passionate about delivering the very best level of service and hospitality as reflected in the book titled Unreasonable Hospitality
  • Focused on employee engagement and the guest experience
  • Commercially minded and results driven
  • Experienced in managing their own P&L
  • Able to respond to guest feedback and issues and ensure a positive outcome
  • Self-driven and highly motivated
  • Proactive, positive and resilient by nature
  • Solutions driven
  • High attention to detail
  • Organised, structured and always striving for excellence and continuous improvement
  • Well presented, confident and outgoing
  • Comfortable working in a very fast paced environment and happy to be hands on
  • Previous experience of working in hospitality, including accommodation, is also essential for this role
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Certificate is also desirable for this role
