gap personnel Bristol are acting as an employment business are currently looking for a Maintenance Assistant for our client, based in Bristol, BS2. As a Maintenance Assistant you will join a team where you will become a key and valued member providing support.

This is a temporary to permanent postion for th right candidate. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • To be able to follow a detailed list of scheduled weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance tasks.
  • Maintenance, both preventative and repairs to Mechanical handling equipment.
  • General repairs to the building infrastructure.
  • Maintenance, both preventative and repairs to the ripening rooms.
  • Cleaning of the ripening rooms including the void area.
  • Liaising with waste management companies to ensure that all the bins are emptied on time.
  • Before any work is carried out on site by external contractors ensuring that the company has their detailed risk assessment method statement (RAMS) and agrees with them.
  • General administration duties including checking the invoices are correct for any work carried out by external contractors, updating and maintaining spreadsheets.
  • Ordering replacement parts as and when required.
  • Making sure that the toilet facilities have soap and paper every day

  • Ability to work on own initiative and in a team environment.

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Flexibility will be required to cover holiday and to meet the daily demands of the business.
  • Occasional working at height and in confined spaces
