A leading multi-national aerospace & defence business are currently recruiting for a Materials Planner / Materials Scheduler on a permanent basis in Bristol, 3-4 days onsite per week.
The Material Planners / Materials Scheduler will be responsible to manage the day-to-day interactions with ERP system ensuring the efficient planning and management of materials throughout the production processes in order that supply chain operations are streamlined, inventory levels optimised, and overall operational efficiency maximised.

Location - Bristol (hybrid working, 3-4 days onsite per week)
Type - Permanent
Salary - £30,000-£35,000 + benefits
Key responsibilities of the Material Planners / Materials Scheduler role and not be limited to:
- Utilise the ERP system to plan and manage material requirements for production orders, ensuring availability of materials at the right time and in the right quantities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and logistics, to develop and maintain accurate material forecasts and plans.
- Monitor inventory levels and analyse demand patterns to identify potential stock-outs, excesses, or obsolescence risks, proactively taking corrective actions to optimize inventory.
- Coordinate with supply chain team to ensure timely delivery of materials, monitoring supplier performance and resolving any issues that may impact production schedules.
- Continuously analyse and improve material planning processes, identifying opportunities for automation, standardization, and enhanced data accuracy within the ERP system.
- Generate and analyse reports related to material planning, such as demand forecasts, inventory status, and production schedules, providing actionable insights to management.
- Collaborate with the IT team and ERP consultants to configure, customize, and enhance the ERP system to meet evolving material planning requirements.
- Propose relevant improvements to enhance material planning capabilities by staying up to date with industry best practices and advancements in ERP systems.
- Train and support end-users on the effective use of the ERP system for material planning to ensure compliance with established processes and procedures.
Key skills and experience required for Material Planners / Materials Scheduler role and not limited to:
- Proven experience within a similar Material Planning / Supply Chain or Procurement role
- Background within manufacturing, technical engineering, aerospace, defence or other technical sectors
- Good communication skills and team player
- Experience in using ERP/MRP systems
- Must be eligible to gain UK Security (SC level) clearance
