Legal Director / Partner

We are seeking a highly skilled Clean Energy Lawyer to join our dynamic team as a Legal Director / Partner. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leading experts in the field, A requirement of 7+ years PQE, the ideal candidate will have substantial experience in commercial, projects, construction and/or regulatory aspects of the clean energy sector.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Draft and negotiate power purchase agreements, battery optimisation, and tolling contracts.
  • Handle clean energy project developments, acquisitions, and disposals.
  • Advise on low carbon support regimes and energy supply contracts.
  • Manage biogas offtake arrangements and Ofgem licensing.
  • Oversee electricity regulation, grid connection arrangements, and private wires.
  • Collaborate with team members across multiple locations including Bristol, Birmingham, Leicester, and Glasgow.
  • Work closely with other practice areas such as real estate, construction, corporate, finance, environment, planning, and dispute resolution to provide comprehensive legal services.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 7+ years PQE with a strong background in construction, commercial, projects, and/or regulatory aspects of clean energy.
  • Experience with transactional matters within the clean energy sector is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as solar PV, wind, hydro, battery storage, energy-from-waste, biogas, hydrogen, EV charging infrastructure, and/or district heating is advantageous.
  • Excellent legal, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
