Day-to-day of the role:

  • Gather reporting requirements from users, providing clear Functional and Technical design documentation.
  • Develop and deliver reports, evaluating and improving existing complex Power BI reports, re-engineering or rescoping where necessary.
  • Maintain and develop SQL databases using advanced knowledge of DML and DDL.
  • Ensure governance processes around reporting are adhered to.
  • Troubleshoot and respond to reporting incidents.
  • Administer Power BI and report access in collaboration with the IT operations team.
  • Lead Power BI training with the support of the L&D department.
  • Maintain, update, and disseminate all report-related processes, procedures, documentation, and policies across the business.
  • Actively explore opportunities to improve the standard of reporting across the organisation and advise on new avenues of MI.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in the end-to-end report development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to delivery.
  • Proficiency in using D365 FO and Project Operations as data sources.
  • Strong SQL development expertise, including Stored Procedures, Views, Common Table Expressions, and Performance Tuning.
  • Demonstrated experience in data warehouse design, including schema development, ETL pipelines, and optimization for reporting use cases.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data governance principles, best practices, and experience with ETL concepts.
